Spring and Blogging Blues

So...I don't know why I haven't felt much like blogging lately.

Maybe it's because there are so many other things
 I should be doing...

Maybe it's because folks don't seem as interested...
...I know I don't seem to get around to visiting other blogs as much.

What I have been enjoying is Instagram
as it just takes a minute to snap a pic and upload it.
They are not polished photos...just a bit gritty...
life as I live it...and see it...directly from my Iphone.
kind of fun...

Maybe I'm lazy...after all blogging takes much more time.
How about you? Are you blogging as much?
Are you following as many blogs?

Maybe it's spring fever!

In any case...wanted to say hello to you all and wish you a very
Happy Easter and Happy Passover.
:) Laura

I go through lulls too. Sometimes I just feel like I have nothing exciting to share. It's been a rough winter and I blame the weather for just feeling blah some days. I try to visit other blogs as much as I can but again, when you are feeling blah, you just don't have the energy.

Hello, Laura,

I'm with you. I've had very little time to blog or visit. I haven't even had time to decorate for Easter. Your photos are inspiring me though. Have a lovely and blessed Easter!

I have been feeling the exact same way Laura. It doesn't feel as if many people are interested anymore.
I too love IG, I think I'm a bit obsessed! :)
Hope you have a lovely afternoon!

Hi Laura,
I think the changing of the seasons plays a big role in blog traffic. People are starting to get outdoors again and are filling there time in other ways. I for one love visiting your blog and seeing your beautiful photos.
Wishing you a Better Day,

Happy Easter Laura! Yes to all of the above. There are so many other avenues to follow. I do FB and Tumblr. They're both easy and relaxing. There does seem to be noticeably less interest in Blogland. I still love it though!

Laura, I completely empathise - and a fellow blogger posted recently about the drop in blog traffic a fair few of us have seen since it was announced Google Reader will disappear come June/July. I think many readers are migrating to platforms such as Bloglovin' to follow blogs through which means signing into a separate site altogether to read blogs.

The lure of Instagram is great isn't it?! So easy to snap away!

Beautiful images as always. Happy Easter to you Laura. I have slowed down on bloging but started a new blog mypineconecottage.blogspot.com
I still love seeing the blogs more that I like FB but FB is so fast and easy and up to date. Haven't done instagram and have not even looked at pinterest. I think those are getting more attention now. I guess I like the way a blog tends to tell a short story.
Hope all is well with you and the family. Annette Andy's Attic

I think I am in the same funk as you are. Even pinning is an effort, which is sad.

Maybe you are right...spring fever may be the problem :)

Sorry about your blogging slump, I get that way, too, sometimes wondering if anyone wants to hear what I write about. But I do love the commaraderie I find in blogging and that always lifts my spirits.

Hopefully it's just spring fever, Laura, and that spring is just around the corner!

Happy Easter!

XO,
Jane

I still follow blogs....but I am finding people are not posting as often. It makes me sort of sad. I do like Instagram but not as much as a good blog. Sometimes Instagram gets very boring....especially photo after photo of similar things, just positioned differently.... Art, I guess? Or just photos.....?

It's funny. I've been doing other things in life and intentionally haven't engaged in any social medias but emails...until now, and after opening an etsy shop, I'm slowly adding all of it. It's all in perspective isn't it?! I do know that I've looked at a lot of blogs and I've weeded out most of them...YOURS remains one that if you keep doing it...I'll keep reading it. As I said when I gobbled up your pinterest...we must have been separated at birth! Don't feel bad...just relax, take a break, and come back refreshed with news we'll all enjoy reading!
Take care...Laura

Hi Laura...I still keep up with my blog....I enjoy the photography, the planning, the writing. I find pleasure in noting the seasons, in counting off the days and projects started and completed. And I still very much look forward to each of your posts and rather miss the time when you updated at least weekly. Always such a joy to see a new 52 Flea post...your blog has always been my favorite among favorites.

I think the trouble is we all get hung up with 'I have a blog therefore I must post regularly'. But we all have lives too without which we wouldn't have anything to write about, how much better to post when you really want to. It comes out in your writing and I think makes whatever you say that bit more appealing. Like many others I used to blog twice a week, but now it's once if I have the time. But when I do I enjoy it. Good luck, nice to see you back and a very happy holiday to you and yours however you celebrate. X

I just celebrated one year of blogging and it does take up a lot of time but I love all the great bloggers I have met out there so I feel it is worth it. Sometimes I feel too like I should post something but have nothing!!!! It happens. I think to keep it fun you just post when you feel it and be content if you do not. Your blog is always beautiful and inspiring.

Anyone visiting my blog lately will see the dust bunnies have been collecting since January. Like you, putting together a post seems to take forever and do I really have anything of interest to say? I'd rather tune in and see what everyone else is up too.
Have a lovely Easter. xx

I have also left blogging for a long time, feeling that no one is really interested in the things I share and since I journal a lot I have taken to recording things of interest to me in my journals instead.
Please don't go away... I love your blog. ;o)

I totally understand the blogging blues. I get them every so often. So often, in fact, that I have 11 different blogs! I get tired of one and start another! But just want you to know I always try to take a peek at your blog even though I may not leave a comment. Your treasures are beautiful and you are a true inspiration! Instagram? No...you should be writing a BOOK! Full of your photos and decorating advice. Seriously....

Yes, Laura...I too, have been in a slump. I do think that Pinterest has a lot to do with the slower blog traffic. It is a time zapper and you can get a lot of eye candy all at once. I also seem to have less time to blog, these days. Bad timing for Google reader to go away, I think!

Me too!
I feel exactly the same way.
I am telling myself that feelings change and to not let it all fade away.

I think people don't have the time to read all the blogs they would like to and other forms of social media are taking up their time.

I don't blog as often as I used to. Sometimes I just can't think of what to blog about and a week goes by and I haven't posted once. Then I lose readers.

Keeping the content interesting and blogging often is not easy.

Elizabeth Maxson said...

Hi Laura,

I don't remember commenting, but I have visited before. I am very much one not to visit blogs very often, and not blog nearly as much, as my life "off screen" is time consuming and it seems (to me at least) that most aren't that interested in what I do, and I am perfectly fine with that. They have a life, and I don't create or perform to keep an audience. I just do what I do and when I get time to share, then I share and if someone is there to read, then great. If not, then I have my own personal "journal" of what I have been up to just for myself. If blogging becomes a "chore" or fills me with "guilt" then it is time for me to get paid for it. (I don't get paid :-) So- it is all volunteer - and from I understand from volunteer work, it should be something I not only give, but also get back from as well :-)

Hope this helps - and know that you are loved, but loving your life more makes you more lovable.

Love
Elizabeth

dearest Laura,
happy Easter to you, Rob and the family.
I am glad you are home.
Call you next week. Did you hear the great news from Paula?
I don't get to blog lately, or for that matter answering mail or comments. Hopefully things settle down, so I can get back to it. I still love blogging, and being in touch with like-minded people. Personally I do NOT like Instagram at all. Just a bunch of pictures, nothing personal to connect to.
I guess, I am missing the sharing of thoughts.
I don't get to visit all of my favorite blogs, but when I do, I catch up on all the ones I have missed.
Anyway, dear friend,
enjoy the family on "bunny day".
Hugs and lots of love,
Evi

Enjoy your day........Sarah

I either have time to write a post of my own or time to read other blogs. It seems like I can't do both.

I love blogging because I get so many ideas and inspiration.

Several people commented about the weather. I live in southern California with relatively mild winters, but I am reading so many blogs where people are snowed in and have cabin fever. I would imagine that becomes draining.

I hope you keep sharing.

I'm feeling a little dry with my blogging too, so I totally get it. If you enjoy photos, you might want to switch to a Tumblr blog; they are pretty much all photos. I prefer writing which is why, I think, I'll always be a blogger. What has helped me is switching over to blog lovin' reader (since Google Reader is going away.) It's a fresh 'view' and has me more interested in blog reading again!
